Insurance & payment

We do not sell insurance. We help you use yours.

Whether your treatment can be billed directly to your insurer depends on the hospital and on your policy — not on us. What we do is make the paperwork work: route your case to a hospital with a direct-billing agreement where one exists, and prepare the records and receipts your insurer requires where one does not.

Three things we do, in writing

What our role is — and is not

We do not sell insurance

We are not an insurer and we do not sell or distribute insurance products.

We do not decide claims

We do not make, or take part in, claims decisions. We prepare documents; we do not rule on whether a claim is payable.

We prepare your documents

We assist the hospital in issuing English medical records, itemised invoices and receipts in the format insurers require, and we help prepare pre-authorisation material.

Whether a treatment is covered by direct billing, and whether it is covered at all, is decided solely by your policy and by your insurer or its third-party administrator (TPA). We report the route; we do not set it.

Two payment routes

How your treatment is billed

Direct billing

Where a hospital holds a direct-billing agreement with your international insurer (for example Cigna, MSH, Allianz or similar), we route your case to that hospital first, so the insurer is billed directly and you avoid paying the full amount out of pocket.

Direct billing depends on the specific hospital and your specific policy. It is not available for every insurer, every treatment or every hospital.

Pay and claim

Where direct billing does not apply, you pay the hospital and claim from your insurer afterwards. We make sure the hospital issues English medical records, itemised invoices and receipts in the format your insurer requires, so the claim is as straightforward as possible.

In public-hospital international departments, payment is often settle-then-claim rather than direct billing. We tell you which applies before you commit to dates.

Medical travel cover

Cover for what can happen around treatment

A separate travel policy can cover medical complications, treatment-related travel delay, and repatriation. We do not sell these policies; we tell you what to look for and which questions to ask, and we list the points below so you can compare products yourself.

Complications

Cover for unexpected medical complications arising during or after treatment.

Travel delay

Cover for treatment-related changes to your itinerary, flights and accommodation.

Repatriation

Medical evacuation and return home. This is provided by your insurer's assistance partner, not by TGCP.

What TGCP does not do

We do not arrange medical evacuation or repatriation. Where a patient needs it, we provide English clinical summaries and documentation assistance to support the evacuation, and we coordinate hospital-side handover and departure.

Check your route before you fly

Tell us your insurer and your case. We will tell you, in writing, whether direct billing is realistic, which documents your insurer will need, and what you should confirm with your insurer before you travel.
